Andi rolled her eyes with an annoyed sigh edging through her smirking lips, “If you’re into all that”, she held her two palms out in a mocking gesture to be cuffed. She didn’t force any resistance to the second stranger cuffing her hands, instead she simply offered a playful grin laced in a natural sense of mischief. Andi knew she had the skillset to get out of the cuffs but she was morbidly curious how the whole situation would turn out, maybe they ended up shoving her to the dead by the side of the road and perhaps they ended up being entertaining while she still appreciated the gift of life. Either way, she was patiently calm and persistently annoyed at the same time.
She found herself staring at the sweet little bitch that disarmed, even then she couldn’t blame the small group of strangers for being anything but cautious about her.“ Pretty sure you already know the answer darling”, Andi found herself pleasantly chuckling at the blonde, her fingers drew soft symbols in the air as she hoped to pass the time to whatever trap or shelter the man was leading them to.
“If we’re bonding, feed me to the dead instead”, she mumbled softly to herself trying to find a comfortable position with one leg crossed over the other and gracefully tossing a rebellious strand of hair to her shoulder. She heard the conversation leaping back and forth in front of her but she was far more interested in the bland scenery passing by.
Andi lifted her chin with an amused smile, her hazel gaze bore through the handsome stranger with a nonchalant shrug to her slim shoulders. “For you handsome, whatever you want it to be”, she offered a brief, playful hint and turned for a second to gaze out to another dead one stumbling by outside. She thought for a few moments and found no downside to admitting her real name, it wasn’t like they gained power over her solely by knowing her identity.
“Andi”, she offered up a more sincere gaze and a somewhat honest smile, “My name’s Andi”. She played nice for a few long moments, eventually she found herself leaning over to dull the ache shoving it’s way through her abdominal cavity. An excellent façade of pain and cute little trick she perfected a few years prior and she held up her open palms with a prideful grin, “Don’t shoot alright? I’m outnumbered and at a disadvantage, I might as well spend the rest of the ride sitting comfortably”, the cuffs coldly hung from one wrist as she relaxed back into the backrest of the seat. Her eyes playfully rolled over each individual waiting to feel the painful tear of a bullet through her flesh.
Andi was being honest though, it was rare but there were occasions where lies weren’t the only things her tongue tasted. Still, she didn’t have any reason to rebel against any of them if they wouldn’t force her to, there was a very tempting idea of theft but she thought it would be better to force the thought to the back of her head. “Since we’re all friends now, can I get my stuff back?”, her washed over the two women with a curious amusement.

"Andi? That's gotta be short for something," Kay spoke out loud, mostly to herself. She was getting twitchy sitting so long in a car with strangers. The woman Lee had asked her to watch was a bit of a wild card and when she asked for her stuff back Kay didn't think Lee was going to bite so she just kept quiet.
The ride droned on with Leonard Clyde giving instructions and Kay was left to wonder if he was driving them into a trap after all. For a moment she got lost thinking about Gleeson. A shiver ran up her spine at even the thought of the name. That had been way too close.
Kay shifted through her panda pack, deciding to stop watching this Andi woman like a hawk: if she was going to murder them all then she was going to do it regardless of being watched.
In truth the young woman hadn't thought she had much time left for this world. She wasn't fit for fighting and she certainly wasn't fit for furthering herself at the behest of others. Unfortunately those were the kind of traits that kept one alive now. Slender fingers closed around one of her last treasures, a box of mints with only three left.
Kay had been saving them for when her breath got really bad but it seemed like a better idea to divvy them up between her new companions.
"Here, take one for you and Lee if you want then pass it to Andi," she threw the tin into Leonard's lap and leaned back in her seat.
Part of her was curious about how this would go. In essence it was a good way to flesh out just exactly what kind of people she had gotten herself stuck with but in reality Kay just wanted to share the remnants of a life long gone.
A walker on the road got a little too close to the car, hitting it, and leaving a less than appealing blood stain on the passenger-side window. Outside the dogs bayed and barked, startled by the sound of threat. Kay zipped up her panda pack and propped her arm up against the glass of the window only to stare out into the dark-world around them.
Hopefully she could wake up tomorrow and then head out. Getting to know other people was dangerous for many reasons.

Leonard Clyde
The ride got quiet as everyone settled in to their own private thoughts. Leonard was no different he gazed out the window of the passenger seat staring blankly at the trees whipping by. In his head voices called out, pulling him back to a memory. A memory before all this shit.
"Lenny you're good to cover me right?" Leonard looked up from his magazine. Leaning against the dirty glass countertop he sighed. "Don't have much of a choice do I Frenchie?" Adam French, who Leonard affectionately called 'Frenchie' was the owner of the gas station at which he worked. Adam smiled weakly. He wasn't all there. He scratched ferociously at a wound on his arm. It was all bandaged up, but the blood was soaking through. Some crazed asshole had bit him. This was two days before the outbreak became a full blown epidemic.
"Lock up when you close. I really appreciate this Lenny." Leonard rolled his eyes and absentmindedly flipped through the magazine he was leafing. "Yeah yeah, one of these days you're going to return all these favors Frenchie." Adam smiled a bit more. "Put them on my tab." With that he was gone. Leaving Leonard alone to mind the gas station by himself. The dull, pale florescent bulbs in the place flickered. Casting a pale green, deathly light in the store.
Adam was gone. Leonard was alone. The night was quiet aside for the gunshots that popped off somewhere in the distance. Even that wasn't enough to set Leonard's teeth on edge. He worked in a bad neighborhood. Gunshots were par for the course. Looking back, there were signs of this shit.... Well before the apocalypse he had warning signs flashing in his face. But how could he have known? He thought about Adam now. Geeky, frail... Kind of scrawny around the elbows and the guy couldn't be intimidating if he tried. Leonard wondered if he would have lasted long in this wild west they lived in now. Honestly Adam was about the closest thing Leonard had to a friend. Self absorbed, self serving assholes didn't tend to have many.
When everything went down and the world descended into chaos..... Leonard found himself with strangers. A group, just trying to survive. Camping on the edge of the broken city. Going back to the city was a bad idea, but that's where they were headed now. Right into the heart of the city. There were pockets to navigate if you were smart about it. Living inside a hive of the dead was probably ballsy and stupid, but it was the best place if you wanted to be free of the people that tried to kill you. It was people that scared Leonard more than the dead. Though after trying to close himself off an live alone he found that it was people that he missed the most. God damn circular logic is what it was, but life was never anything but complicated. There was no truer fact.
Leonard's group had spent a good deal of time setting up the city so that it was livable. Fairfax County Virginia, in all it's regal glory! This was the rich side of the city. The part of the city that had all the fancy shopping malls and outlet chains. Luckily, most people weren't stupid enough to even try and loot these places. They feared the heart of the dead that circled around it like an angry, hungry swarm. Leonard's now deceased group had taken care of that too. Leonard slipped his hand inside the pocket of his dusty green jean jacket.
He felt the familiar edges of a controller in his hand. About the size of a garage door opener. Leonard pulled it from his pocket and stared at it quietly as the car turned the next corner. "Almost there." He said staring at the floorboards. His eyes swam up to the windshield to see a row of cars all lining the sides of the street. Two massive speakers sat on the sidewalks on each side. Leonard pressed a button.....
The music blared from the speakers on the sidewalk. Long extension cords traveled along the busted and broken cracks in the sidewalk and up into the busted out windows of a few stores. These stores had running generators. Leonard's old group was efficient. "Keep going. The music will scatter the dead. We should slip right on through. Turn into that mall up ahead." Yes. Leonard's fortress was a three story mall. All the stores, mostly untouched. This is what his group had been working on when they were unfortunately slaughtered. As the lone survivor he reaped the benefits, but he had been lonely. Lonelier than he cared to admit. Even to himself.
When the car stopped Leonard looked around. He popped one of the breath mints in his mouth and chewed it. Tossing the tin can back to the curious blond he winked at Kay. "Thanks." Opening the door he stretched a bit before slamming it shut. He still had the universal remote in his hands. The speakers would shut themselves off eventually. The generators only ever had so much gas in them and he would refill them ass needed. He only needed the momentary distraction to get in and out. Being in the city could be dangerous, but on the other hand. It was one of the safest places to be.
There was a surprising amount of cars still in the parking lot. All of them clear of the dead, but not actually thoroughly searched for supplies. "Welcome to MaCarthur Mall. I'm set up on the third floor in the old movie theater up there. Sound proof rooms, big heavy doors, and of course the promised popcorn. Though.... I suppose you could hit the food court if you're feeling adventurous. So what do you say? You girls up for a shopping trip?"
Leonard looked around the confused and bewildered faces and tossed Kay a wink before jumping up on the hood of the car. He walked casually up the windshield and onto the roof as he stared out over the vast wasteland. Maybe with the extra hands he might actually get this place more secured. The process had been slower than expected all on his own. Jumping down into the truck bed he grabbed the few bags that were back there and slung them over his broad shoulders.
Leonard hopped out and began walking up to the front doors. There was a walker tied to a bench by the front door. He had on a a green and purple sweatervest with intricate diamond patterns across the chest. The sun beat down on his tired and decaying skin and his skin looked cracked and blistered. Especially on the bald portion that sat atop his head. Leonard smiled at him as he walked past. "Hey Adam. Everything quite while I was gone?" The walker Adam reached out for Leonard and strained against the criss crossing bungee cords that lashed his chest and kept him in place.
A hint of pain hit Leonard's eye, but Leonard smirked and pulled the door disappearing inside the mall. He didn't wait for his female counterparts. They could join him if they wished. And he really hoped they did. He wasn't kidding about things having been lonely the last month or so. If not. At least he got a ride back home. The drive was the main focus for Raleigh right now because distractions could cost you in this world. Look away for one second and you hit a stalled out car or something. Her mind was really on the mind altering substances in the back of her truck. Leonard spoke to her and she followed directions carefully. Hearing him ask about her name and if she was someone famous would've normally made her smile but names meant nothing. "I was Raleigh stone. Don't think my name means much anymore darlin." After those words she stayed pretty quiet as far as this little group went.
Kay was talking back and forth with them and the blonde was flirting with the guy. It reminded her of just what she had lost because of all this bullshit sickness. The blonde did ask about getting her weapons back but Raleigh wasn't gonna let that happen why she was driving and couldn't defend herself. "You can have them back after this ride. Wouldn't want you to try and turn on me while i cant really defend myself. I may be young but i wasn't born yesterday." Raleigh spoke as she kept driving and when she heard the music in the streets come on she felt her heart race,
Apparently it was Leonard's causing and they managed to make it to the mall. When the truck came to a stop in the parking garage she slid out of the drivers seat and opened the back door for andi to slide out. Heading to the back of the truck she opened the tail gate and the dogs bounded out. Grabbing her bag she found the handcuff keys and used them to uncuff Andi. "Do not make me regret letting you loose barbie." Raleigh warned as she grabbed her back and pulled a two bottles of vodka from the box.
Taking out a second box and handing it to kay there was a smile on her face. "There are some MRE meals in her for everyone." After passing of the box and Following the others into the mall her eyes glanced around at the massive size of the place. Really she was looking for somewhere secluded to drink away her sorrows. Blue eyes fell on a furniture store upstairs and she headed towards what used to be escalators. Glancing back at kay she smiled a bit. "I'm gonna check out the furniture store if ya need me Kay."
Upstairs in the store she moved through the display of beds and found one towards the back. Each bed was in his own little decorated half room and this one had a wall that blocked anyone's view from seeing her unless they moved around it. Setting her bag on the bed she watched as the dogs jumped up onto another mattress across from her. Grabbing a bottle of narcotic pain pills out of her back she popped two and chased them with vodka. Sliding onto the bed she leaned against the headboard and finally felt tears rolling down her cheeks.
The first moment she really had to stop and just deal with everything that had happened. In her mind she still heard Busters words about how her family would be dead already. Taking another sip of the alcohol her head leaned back as her eyes closed. Sniffles faintly escaping as a small sound in the massive store.

“Andromeda”, Andi whispered her name to Kay with a soft sigh, she hadn’t tasted the sound of her own name in years. Everyone who knew her only knew the shortened version of a name she kept private, otherwise she was known by a long list of aliases that didn’t mean a thing to her. She was well adept at keeping a calm façade but there was an uneasy discomfort bubbling through her mind at the sight of the car driving deeper into city. She wasn’t entirely a fan of the dead or the living but instead she had all the capabilities to bullshit her way out of a confrontation with those still donned a beating heart but there was nothing she could do to disarm the hunger of a hoard of clawing dead ones and as far as she’d seen, these things littered the cities like pests.
“If something eats me I’m blaming you assholes”, Andi offered a playful shrug of her shoulders but there was a dangerous undertone to her voice. Her eyes trailed over the cars lining the streets for lack of anything better to pass the time until a familiar rhythm blared through speakers strategically set up by someone smart enough to navigate a city littered with dead ones. “Smart”, she complimented with a comfortable charm and a shift in her posture so she could whisper the words close to Leonard’s ear.
Andi slipped her slender figure out of the open door with an annoyed glare at Raleigh, she rolled her wrists at the newfound freedom with a cocky smirk set on her lips. “Call me barbie again and we’re gonna have a problem”, the words were laced with a venomous threat as she rolled her shoulders and turned to glance at the others.
She leaned back against the hood of a dusty card with her slender legs folded over one another at the bold introduction to his home. She looked down to the fitting touch of her faded jeans and wondered if she should at least try to update the only two outfits in her current wardrobe but she was exhausted, she’d deny the tiring effects of her constant running in fear it would be a weakness to those who sought to destroy her. These people seemed somewhat nice but the world changed and she knew better than most that appearances could be gravely deceiving.
She wasn’t hesitant to follow after a man she planned to rob a while earlier, she did pause for a confused glance at the walker tied down near the front door. She waved at the dead one as she passed, she turned around with a palm balanced against the door and a charming grin at Kay and Raleigh. “I’ll try to behave”, she offered a playful wink and slipped inside the building with a curious glance at the big space inside.
Andi was fully intending to follow after Leonard until her eye caught a quint little clothing shop on the way, she spent a second pondering the thought before slipping inside. Her fingers ran along the various fabrics until she pulled a new pair of jeans off a shelf. A brief glance over her shoulder in fear of dead ones and she slipped out of her attire with no regards if anyone could spot her. The new jeans sat snuggly against her skin and hugged her hips in a darker tone than the last ones. She added a new shirt and drifted back into the large interior of the building.
She finally navigated her way to the movie theatre, she thought the conversation of another person might be more interesting than the bland stock of abandoned shops. Stepping inside the large, dimly lit room she couldn’t spot him yet but her eyes were slowly sweeping the space with intrigue. “Anyone home?”, she stepped inside slowly with a curious glance over the almost comforting interior. “You know, I wasn’t going to rob you blind. I really just needed a few things, you could’ve kept the rest”, she muttered the apology with a shrug patiently searching for a face in the big space, the world was lonely enough as is and she wasn’t sure how long it would take her to find another friendly face.

Kay didn't know what to think when Leonard waved to a tied up zombie and called him by first name. It certainly wasn't the most bizarre thing she'd seen someone do. The way things had been had left everyone somewhat fractured and certain odd coping mechanisms had flared up so Kay imagined keeping a walker pet might not be all that weird anymore, especially if it was someone the guy knew.
Plus that sweater vest was antique.
As they entered the mall complex Leonard padded off to his main base and Andi looked like she intended to follow him but stopped at a clothing store. Lee told Kay where she'd be and headed off but there was something dark in her eyes like a bad thought that wouldn't go away. Unintentionally she bit her bottom lip and thought about the situation. There were dozens of walkers outside so slipping out anytime soon was not an option.
Kay always avoided cities so to drive directly into one AND a horde of walkers, well it was giving her some pretty serious heart palpitations.
While most of the stores had been semi-looted there were still gems hidden among the post apocalyptic fire sale and she ducked into a knickknacks store. Who needed junk when the apocalypse was around right? Wrong.
Several poor looting decisions later Kay found herself at a crossroads. She could either join Lee or touch base with the two newer acquaintances. On one hand she believed she could trust Lee and wanted to suss out whether or not they could maybe start traveling together but on the other hand she wanted to know just exactly what Leonard and Andi were about. Maybe they couldn't be trusted and coming here was a mistake.
In the end she decided it would be better to touch base with the person she could trust first. When she found Lee the former country singer was with her dogs, an open bottle of vodka on the bedside table next to her. Kay entered the furniture store, headed over to where Lee was, and lingered by the dogs, playing with Bo's large, velvety ear.
"Hope you don't mind me cutting in but I need to say that this mall is legit. When you're at the bottom of that bottle and you've slept it off we should check out the food court. Maybe there's still some partially melted ice cream left," she joked.
Social niceties had recently become lost to her and so she cut right to the chase.
"Do you think we can trust these guys?" she was more curious what Lee thought because the woman seemed to be way better at making decisions than Kay.

There was something about the mix of alcohol and a few narcotic pain killers that made everything just tune out. They were in this mall with probably a butt load of walkers around them but right now she was starting to not care. Her eyes were closed but she could hear belle and dixie playing tug of war with ripping fabric. They loved tearing up throw pillows back before the world went to hell and Bo was baying and trying to play even though he tripped over his own long legs. Hearing the dogs jump off the bed her eyes opened to see Kay.
The privacy was something she longed for even though she had it for a few months now. The walkers had been a annoyance and always bugging her just like fans that just couldn't give her space. "The only thing at the bottom of this bottle is hopefully...." Raleigh's voice trailed off as she didn't wanted to speak that dark state of mind she was in. Maybe she was hoping a few more pills and the rest of the bottle would leave her a shambling lifeless meat bag. The sound of a sigh escaped her lips as she grabbed the bottle and turned it up again.
The burn felt nice even though she coughed in reaction. "Maybe later we can go to rue 21 and find some new clothes." The tone of her voice was something she tried to force as happy but it was just sorta lightly enthusiastic. "You cant trust anyone these days. I drugged a guy in Michigan and kidnapped him while stealing his car. After a long handcuffed ride i finally let him free just to ditch him in the morning. Then when i ran into his friend a week later by pure chance, I traded all this guys belongings to his friend after letting him believe the guy was dead."
Raleigh spoke as she glanced at Kay and they stared off into nothing. "Trusting people and having hope for the future is just a dead end street." The hurt was in her voice and it rang out like a sad country song. "Everyone we ever loved of cared about is dead and who knows when we will be next so may as well drink up." Holding out the bottle she offered it to Kay. Even if the dead broke in and killed her, The substances in her system would likely leave her numb.

Kay shrugged away the bottle, she wasn't about to drink in a mall surrounded by walkers. Plus she'd always been a gin and tonic kind of girl so the thought of downing some straight-up vodka was just gross.
"Shit Lee, that's sort of messed up. But we've all had to do stuff like that. Traveling alone, that's usually my philosophy but it'll kill you much quicker thinking that everyone in the world is just out for themselves," she begun to fiddle with the wardrobe besides the dogs, opening the draws to find mostly nothing save a half-chewed piece of gum, "there has got to be at least one person you can trust in this shit show. Nobody can make it on their own anymore for too long, not really."
As she shut the last wardrobe door it jammed and, after a few attempts to unjam it she gave up. It wasn't like they needed to shut it anymore. Most things stayed in a state of half open thanks to the zombie apocalypse interrupting all civilized life.
"What we need is a good gig. See this," she motioned to the entire mall, "its a good gig that's going to go bad one day. Handfuls of walkers surrounding a mall? Yah they'll come in eventually. What we should do is loot the shit out of it and find something more rural. Out there? I'm betting there's a much better gig, the problem is finding it... and taking a chance on other people."
Even Kay figuratively shuddered at the prospect. Gleeson would always remind her that people weren't who they used to be but it would've robbed her from all hope if she began to think everyone was that way now. Lee was depressed and Kay wasn't really sure she could pull her out of it because there was plenty to be depressed about.
"You should come north with me, less people means less walkers and it gets cold so who knows maybe they'll be slower?" Kay sighed, "it's just a thought. If you're interested. We can learn to trust each other if that's what it takes."
It felt strange to say those words but the more Kay had been considering it the more Kay realized that if she was going to travel further on she needed someone to travel with, preferably someone who didn't take any shit and was decent with walkers. Lee seemed to fit that description for the most part.
Minus the drowning herself in liquor part that is.
